For myself and for the wider CAI community,  may I express our concern and support for the patients, relatives, and all of our colleagues at Wexford General Hospital, who were confronted by the effects of yesterday’s fire.

Our understanding is that the affected patients and their relatives are all safe, many having been moved to safety in other hospitals and residential facilities.

The hospital staff at WGH, at the receiving hospitals, and the ambulance and emergency service providers deserve enormous credit for achieving such a successful response.

Our College will look forward to providing support and assistance in the days and weeks ahead.
