Global Health Education Ireland (GHEI) 2026 is a 1 Day Online Conference (Weds Oct 28th) run by The Forum of Postgraduate Medical Training Bodies of Ireland, and this year is hosted by The Irish College of General Practitioners.

The Conference provides exciting updates on a wide range of Global Health Initiatives and Programmes, and details over 20 evolving Projects, mainly but not exclusively running in Africa.

Leading Keynote Speakers include Dr Innocent Besigye (Inaugural President ECSA College of Family Practice), Dr Mike Ryan, Dr Eimhin Ansbroe (LSTHM/Trinity College), and with opening comments from Minister Neale Richmond.

Strong input from Specialty Trainees is reflected in a range of Free Standing Papers, and also through their participation in panels, examining the key issues of the day in Global Health, including how to obtain more practical Global Health exposure and experience as part of their Specialty Training, and how Global Health Education requires to change in a very rapidly changing world.

Many of the projects underway, and particularly the international partners with whom they have been developed with, may powerfully challenge and inspire you regarding how you or your Team might become involved with Global Health ?

Whether you see yourself providing care in Ireland to growing numbers of Migrants, or assisting with project work abroad, you will find much at GHEI ’26 to challenge, inspire and perhaps change your practice.

GHEI ’26 Programme is attached. Registration for this online Conference is free (see link attached), is approved for CPD, and you might consider joining for some or all of it, on Weds Oct 28th.
