Council Elections 2021

In accordance with the Standing Orders of the Council of the College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland 3 vacancies arise on Council this year. All Fellows of the College, In Good Standing, of not less than three academic years duration on the date fixed for the election, are eligible for election to the Council. 8th Annual Medical Student Essay Competition 2021

The College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland invites medical students on the island of Ireland to submit an essay on the topic of “Safety while we watch – What should a Patient Safety Culture in Anaesthesiology look like?”. The 4th National Annual Patient Safety in Anaesthesiology Conference took place, virtually, on Friday, November 13th. Changes to the Trainee Specialist Registration eligibility

The College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland welcomes the recent changes in the criteria for Trainee Specialist Registration eligibility with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) & the HSE English language competency requirements. On 6 November 2020, Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly, enacted legislative changes that will help non-EEA doctors to access postgraduate specialist training in Ireland. The signing of commencement order for sections of the Regulated Professions (Health and Social Care) (Amendment) Act 2020 allows any doctor eligible for registration on the Council’s general division to apply for specialist training.
