Hacking Global Surgery – March 28th!
Hacking Global Surgery
RCSI, in collaboration with the Global Anaesthesia, Surgery and Obstetrics Collaboration (GASOC), is delighted to announce the inaugural Hacking Global Surgery event, taking place on Saturday 28th March at RCSI, 118 St Stephen’s Green, Dublin.
This in-person event will bring together clinicians, engineers and designers to work in multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions to improve post-operative monitoring in low-resource settings. The day will focus on collaboration, design thinking and knowledge exchange across disciplines. Applications are open to individuals with a background in medicine, design or engineering.
No specific CV or prior experience in global surgery is required. Selected participants will attend a short online briefing in the week before the event, where the design brief, team allocations and event structure will be outlined. The main event will then take place at RCSI on 28th March, where participants will be guided through design exercises, culminating in team presentations at the end of the day.
There is no cost for participants, but places are limited, and applicants should only apply if they can commit to both the online briefing and the in-person event. This is a great opportunity to network across disciplines, learn more about global surgery and design, and contribute to ideas with real-world impact.
Applications are now open via Eventbrite
