The College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland invites medical students to submit an essay on the topic of “Anaesthesia Safety – What do our Patients expect?”.

The winner will be awarded a €500 prize and must be available to give a short presentation about their essay at at the Annual Congress of Anaesthesiology on Thursday 20^th or Friday 21^st May 2021 (time to be confirmed).

2nd Place: €250 plus invitation to Annual Congress of Anaesthesiology 2021

3rd place: €100 plus invitation to Annual Congress of Anaesthesiology 2021

The competition is open to all students in their clinical years. We also accept essays from students graduating in 2020.

The essay is limited to 1000 words and must include at least 5 references. References, in either Vancouver or Harvard referencing style, are excluded from the final word count.
