




This week, the College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland (CAI), the College of Anaesthesiologists (CoA) of the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia (AMM), and the Parallel Pathway Specialist Training Technical Committee for Anaesthesiology and Critical Care (Ministry of Health in Malaysia) conducted preparatory courses and examinations for the MCAI OSCE/SOE and FCAI SOE at the Academy of Medicine Building in Putrajaya, Malaysia.
27 candidates travelled from as far as Trinidad & Tobago, Syria, Egypt, Australia, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and, of course, Malaysia to sit the CAI membership and Fellowship examinations.
The examinations were supported by 10 local examiners, 4 local invigilators, and 6 examiners from the CAI, Dr Michelle Duggan, Dr Aoibhin Hutchinson, Dr Niamh Feely, Dr David Devlin, Dr Fidelma Kirby, Dr Gareth Morrison and Ms Ruth Flaherty our Examinations Manager.
Additionally, CAI Vice President Dr. Michelle Duggan and CoA President Dato’ Dr. Yong Chow Yen renewed their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The signing was witnessed by the Director General of Health, Dato’ Sri Dr. Mahatar Abd Wahab, and the Master of AMM, Professor Datuk Dr. Hanafiah Harunarashid.
