The College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland is delighted to invite you to apply for the CAT Consultant Workshop, which will take place in the College, Merrion Square on Wednesday the 10th of April 2024!

This workshop focuses on preparation for consultant applications and interviews, and is aimed at trainees getting ready for life after the scheme. It will be co-hosted by the College and ‘Inspire Change’, an agency which focuses on developing healthcare leaders.

This full-day event is designed specifically for senior trainees and will provide valuable insights and experience to help you prepare for the consultant application and interview process. The workshop will feature group activities, mock interviews, and constructive feedback on your CV. These interactive sessions will provide you with the opportunity to build your skills and confidence.

The cost of the workshop is €100.

Careers Evening

That same evening, CAT will be hosting a Careers Evening online at 6pm, which is designed to provide some clarity around the consultant interview and application process along with the different career paths within our specialty. There will be a speaker on the consultant interview and application process followed by short talks from four consultants representing ICU, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Pain Medicine. The panel discussion will conclude with a Q&A session, providing attendees with the opportunity to ask questions and engage with our panel of speakers. We believe that this event will provide valuable insights into the various career paths and provide practical information on preparing for life after the training scheme.
