Dear Fellows,

It is with great sadness that I inform you that  Dr John Hinds, Fellow of the College, and Consultant in Anaesthesia and ICM, Craigavon Area Hospital tragically passed away on Saturday 4^th July. John was well known worldwide in the field of trauma anaesthesia and was part of the Motorcycle Union of Ireland medical response team. It was whilst carrying out his duties as the race doctor at the Skerries 100 event last Friday that he was injured, and subsequently passed away in the Beaumont Hospital.

The College would like to extend our condolences  to his partner Janet and his family at this sad time.
