Current Job Vacancy: Medical Educationalist at College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland

The College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland is the recognised post-graduate training body for the delivery of training and education of doctors in the speciality of Anaesthesia, Pain Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine in Ireland. It is an independent college accredited by the Medical Council of Ireland and incorporates the Faculty of Pain Medicine and is a constituent college of the Joint Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine in Ireland.

We are currently recruiting for the role of Medical Educationalist.  The Medical Educationalist is a significant clinician leadership role in the College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland. She/he will support and enable the President, College Executive and Council to achieve the College’s objectives. This will involve leading the development of a strategic plan for a number of departments within the college. Duties will include, but are not limited to, delivering the strategic objectives set by Council of the College.

The Medical Educationalist will engage with all relevant internal and external stakeholders. She/he will work with key stakeholders to translate the medium-term strategic priorities into annual operational objectives. With the assistance of the CAI Executive. She/he will define and keep under regular review, a rolling medium term strategy to reflect College Priorities as determined by CAI Council.

Contract Duration: The term of office for this post is three years with a provision for renewal of tenure for a further period of three years’ subject to agreement. The person appointed will be required to attend CAI headquarters on a scheduled basis as required to fulfil the role as set out. The commitment is one to one and a half days per week.
