Training Manager

The College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland exists to promote best practice in the fields of Anaesthesia, Intensive Care and Pain Medicine through training, examinations and educational programmes. As a recognised and approved Training Body by the Irish Medical Council, the College is responsible for setting training standards and for the organisation, supervision and counselling of doctors in training in Ireland.


The College wishes to appoint a Training Manager, reporting to the Training Officer to manage the day to day activities of the Training Department. The key components of the role are:


·       Administration of the College’s trainee and hospital database

·       Co-ordination of the annual recruitment process

·       Co-ordination of the Training Programme including trainee rotations, annual and exit interviews

·       Management of the Professional Competence Scheme

·       Provision of secretarial and event management support to Faculties and Societies

·       Management of staff


The ideal candidate should have at least three years high level adminstration experience with decision making and responsibility for delivering results and experience of managing relationships across a range of levels and functions. Experience in a medical training environment is required.

The salary will be commensurate with the seniority of the post.
